You might be interested to know that the world of sock creations is as busy a place as ever. Recently I heard from Sinead in Seattle, Washington. She’s been very busy dreaming up new designs. The eagle above is just one of her creations. It’s hard not to admire her choice in socks—the coordination in the bands on the eagles’ wings. Pretty impressive.
She also shared with me her original chicken, below:
Note her use of a blue sock here. Definitely not what you’d expect, and that’s part of what gives it its charm. That, and its argyle wings!
So happy that Sinead is creating and thrilled that she chose to share these with me (and now you)! It’s inspiring to see other artists at work.
By now you should have received your copy of “This is Mouse” if you pre-ordered it. It’s the book that everyone is talking about. Get out your fabric and scissors and get busy. Join Mouse on his adventures to the South Pole, Outer Space and on Safari.
“Maloney is well-positioned to create a worthwhile book on sewing for kids. Her effort is as charming as can be, combining clear instructions and adorable patterns with a series of stories about the titular protagonist.”
Good news! C&T Publishing has agreed to publish my latest book. It’s all about a little Mouse. You’ll get to make Mouse and a bunch of his friends. The gang will go on many adventures. Stay tuned for more!
